Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

At times you may have some questions about my services and so I have compiled an FAQ. If you feel that your question hasn't been answered or you would like to speak directly with me please use the contact form or give me a call.

How much will my project cost?

Well it depends on various elements. Ccosts are based on what your requirements are. A website can have many features which can take time and thus the costs varies too. Just complete the questionnaire and I'll have a proposal to you outlining everything.

How long will my project take?

Again this depends on your specific requirements. I will outline everything in the proposal which is completed and sent out after your assessment.

Do I need to sign anything?

Yes. Once you have reviewed and are in agreement with the proposal, a contract will be drawn with the general terms and conditions as well as other criteria.

What’s your development process?

Initially a questionnaire will need to be completed or an appointment will be arranged to assess your needs and requirements. Once established a proposal will be drawn stating, timeline and cost for development, solutions to your needs, client side responsibilities, usability testing, amendments and more. Throughout this period I will be working closely to ensure co-operation and best work practices.

What’s included in your price?

The price will include all the work outlined in the proposal.

What is hosting and do I need it?

In basic terms, hosting is where all your web files are stored on a server for internet viewing. Hosting is available in various packages which differ in features and functionality. I can recommend hosting plans based on your requirements as well as features that are enabled on your website.

What is accessibility and why do you put so much emphasis on it?

In its basic terms web accessibility allows users with disabilities and the older community to understand, navigate and interact with websites. This is what it means when I say making your websites available to widest possible user.

There is also a practical business case for accessibility and more and more companies and developers are using this opportunity to make the web experience a better one.

I have some videos which I want on my website. Can you work with these?

Sure I can. One of my specialty is encoding video for the web. Just let me know in your questionnaire of your media requirements and I'll provide feedback in your proposal.

What is a Content Management System (CMS) and do I need it?

A Content Management System (CMS) is a system which helps you manage content and media effectively and with ease. Again from my assessments of your needs I will make recommendations if you need a CMS or not.
